It's all the things I love about Richmond and cities in general! Josh Stover An artist based in Richmond. He is a sign painter and the owner of Variety Shop. He grew up in Pittsburgh, Florida, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from the University of Florida. His paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia and the aesthetics of the past while possessing a contemporary warmth, blending imagined and real environments. His use of acrylic paint and watercolor techniques is inspired by the colors and shapes of old signs, vintage packaging, children’s illustrations, and the nostalgic interiors and objects found in old homes and furniture. He also infuses his paintings with a sense of playfulness by combining graphic shading and flat colors with perspective.
